In 2024, Shotcrete Australia was awarded the contract for ground retention works at the Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre by our valued client, Ward Civil. This project is a key component of the ongoing development at Kimbriki, a leading waste and recycling facility located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
The Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre plays a vital role in waste management and environmental sustainability, providing advanced recycling solutions to reduce landfill waste. As part of its infrastructure improvements, significant ground stabilisation works were required to reinforce embankments and ensure the long-term stability of the site.
Scope of Works: Precision in Ground Engineering
Shotcrete Australia was engaged to stabilise a large embankment within the facility, requiring a combination of soil nails, rock anchoring, and shotcrete applications. Given the complexity of the site, our team executed:
· Installation of over 1,000 soil nails, reaching lengths of up to 4,000mm to reinforce the embankment.
· Application of 2,500m² of shotcrete to create a durable, stabilised surface.
· Ground retention under tight access conditions, requiring meticulous planning and execution.
· Work at height solutions, ensuring safe and efficient installation in challenging terrain.
These essential retention works have reinforced the embankment, providing long-term stability and ensuring the site can continue its operations safely and efficiently.
